Agartala: Jan 02: Minister Sushanta Chowdhury chaired a virtual meeting today, January 2, to discuss a crucial initiative that aims to raise awareness about consumer rights, road safety, and the dangers of drug abuse among students in Tripura. The meeting brought together principals of various universities and colleges, along with officials from the state's Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs Department, Transport Department, Traffic Police, and Higher Education Department.

The initiative emphasizes the importance of collaboration among various departments and educational institutions to ensure its success. Minister Chowdhury highlighted the vital role of universities and colleges in spreading awareness among students on these critical issues.

To engage students actively, the initiative includes organizing a quiz competition and rally. The quiz will test students' knowledge on consumer rights, road safety measures, and the harmful effects of drugs, while the rally will spread messages on these topics in a more direct and public manner.

This collective effort aims to promote a safer and more responsible society by increasing awareness and fostering responsibility among the youth regarding important social issues. By working together, the Tripura government departments and educational institutions hope to create a long-term impact and empower students to make informed decisions.
