Agartala: Nov 14: For the convenience of travelers in Kailashahar subdivision, the state-run T.R.T.C. (Tripura Road Transport Corporation) had been operating a daily bus service between Kailashahar and Kumarghat railway station. However, this service has been suspended for the past 17 days, causing significant inconvenience to the local population. Despite being aware of the issue, the T.R.T.C. authorities have shown indifference in addressing the matter.

The bus service, which had been running for the past two years, was crucial for daily commuters, providing an affordable travel option. The fare for the government bus was only 30 rupees per passenger, while private buses and cars charged between 80 to 100 rupees. The bus would depart from Kailashahar at 5:30 AM and return from Kumarghat at 9:30 AM, with another round-trip in the afternoon at 3:30 PM and 9:00 PM. This schedule was highly appreciated by the residents, as it offered a reliable and cost-effective transportation option.

However, since October 28th, the bus has been out of service due to a broken engine. T.R.T.C. officials in Kailashahar reported that they promptly informed higher authorities about the issue, but no efforts have been made to repair the bus. With no alternative public transport available, passengers are facing immense hardship due to the disruption of this essential service.
