Tripureswari temple illuminated, Chief Minister to inaugurate diwali festival on Sunday

Agartala, Nov. 11: Chief Minister Manik Saha to inaugurate three-day diwali festival at Tripureswari temple, one of the shakti peethas in Udaipur on Sunday. Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and local MLA Abhishek Debroy will also remain present at the inaugural function.
The entire temple and its vicinity were illuminated to celebrate diwali festival, the second biggest festival of the state. The security arrangement has been tightened to ensure peaceful celebration of the festival of light.
Extra buses will be running the whole night on the occasion of the festival.
Besides, two extra trains will be plying leading to Udaipur so that devotees could offer prayer to Maa Tripura Sundari.
On Sunday, the temple will be opened at 4.30 am and the priests will chant chandi, one of the rituals of worshipping. “Maa will take a bath at 8 am and is scheduled to wear special ornaments on the occasion of diwali. The puja will start at 10 am as usual”, said the main priest of the temple, Chandan Chakraborty.
At 6.30 pm, a late night puja will be arranged for Tripura Sundari Maa and thereafter the special worshipping on the occasion of diwali will begin, he said adding the temple will remain opened for the whole night on Sunday.
“The temple will be closed at 11 pm on Monday and Tuesday even as mela will continue as per the schedule. All arranging has been done to celebrate diwali in traditional gaiety and pomp”, he said.
“There will be 16 stalls of different government departments to highlight the works of the concerned department. Besides, as many as 6664 stalls have been allocated among the potential vendors during the puja”, said Sujan Das, chairman of Matabari block panchayat samity.
