Agartala, May 18: In a strong show of patriotism and gratitude, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a "Tiranga Yatra" on Sunday at Banamalipur Mandal, Agartala, to honor the bravery of the Indian Army and commend Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership following “Operation Sindoor.”
The rally was held in response to the militant attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22, which claimed the lives of Indian soldiers. In a decisive counter-offensive, the Indian Army launched "Operation Sindoor," destroying nine militant bases across the Line of Control. The Indian forces also successfully intercepted Pakistani drone strikes that followed the operation.
The Tiranga Yatra began in front of Chandrapur ISBT and passed through key routes of the city, with participants holding the national flag high and chanting patriotic slogans. The event aimed to express solidarity with the armed forces and reaffirm national unity.
BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya led the event, accompanied by several senior party leaders, workers, and supporters. Addressing the gathering, Bhattacharya said, “Our brave soldiers are selflessly guarding the borders, ensuring the safety of every citizen. It is due to their valor and sacrifices that we live peacefully. Under PM Modi’s dynamic leadership, India is rising as a self-reliant and strong nation.”
The Tiranga Yatra served as a tribute to the Indian Army’s courage and a message of national pride. Participants pledged to uphold the spirit of unity and patriotism, while also spreading awareness of the sacrifices made by the armed forces.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to stand by the nation’s security forces and continue fostering a spirit of nationalism among the citizens.
