Central Government Approves Eco-Park Project in Jirania

Agartala, May 16: The central government has sanctioned the development of a modern eco-park in Jiraniya under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 project. The tourism department is set to commence construction work soon, as announced by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.

According to Chowdhury, the proposed eco-park, inspired by Kolkata's Nicco Park, will be established in Sachindra Nagar Colony. A final-level meeting regarding the project was convened at the office of the Jiraniya Sub-Divisional Magistrate, attended by land donors, the director of the tourism department, the sub-divisional magistrate, key local representatives, and other administrative officials.

The initiative aims to enhance tourism infrastructure in the region while promoting environmental sustainability and recreational opportunities for visitors. Further details on the project’s timeline and implementation are expected in the coming weeks.
