Agartala: May 13: Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, while addressing journalists today, strongly criticized the opposition parties, accusing them of adopting a negative mindset that hinders the state’s progress. He claimed that despite the state government's developmental efforts, the opposition refuses to acknowledge the positive changes taking place.

Taking aim at the opposition, Dr. Saha stated that their refusal to appreciate the government’s work reflects their political agenda and narrow thinking. “If the opposition does not change its mindset, the state will not be able to move forward,” he warned.

Highlighting a major achievement, the Chief Minister announced that 975 new police constables have been issued offer letters, marking a significant step in strengthening Tripura’s law enforcement system. He emphasized that such a large-scale recruitment is taking place after many years and underlines the government’s commitment to improving law and order.

Dr. Saha also assured that the state police will function without political interference, adding that full authority has been given to the police to maintain the rule of law. The government, he said, is determined to ensure peace and security in the state, and further recruitments in the police force are part of that mission.

Responding to the opposition's allegations that law and order in Tripura have collapsed and that their leaders and supporters are being attacked even in the presence of police, Dr. Saha dismissed these claims. He attributed such statements to the opposition’s “habitual negativity.”

"Their claims are politically motivated and baseless. The opposition is only trying to create confusion and distrust among the people," he asserted.

The Chief Minister concluded by reiterating his government's focus on development, rule of law, and public welfare.
