The state unit of BJP on Monday thanked the Union government and saluted the Indian Armed Forces for successfully executing ‘operation sindoor’ aimed at dismantling terror facilities in Pakistan.“Over 100 terrorists were killed and nine hideouts of terrorist camps were destroyed apart from flooring of nine airbases in Pakistan as the Indian Armed Forces launched a 23-minute operation sindoor meticulously and precisely”, party’s chief spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said during a press conference.Claiming that the ‘operation sindoor’ was cent percent successful, he said the people of the country desperately wanted the government to launch a decisive attack on terror infrastructure in Pakistan following the senseless Pahalgam attack in which 26 tourists were shot dead by Pakistan based terrorists.“Our Armed Forces achieved a decisive and historic win in the operation sindoor. It had been possible because of strong political will. At least 20 countries extend support to India in the decisive fight against the terrorism. We thanked the Prime Minister and the Armed Forces for the success in executing operation sindoor. We are proud of our Armed Forces”, he said.Asserting that the operation sindoor was not a military operation, Chakraborty said the country’s Armed Forces had targeted only terror camps or hideouts and no civilians were targeted. He said the Centre had also taken some strategic decisions to teach a lesson to Pakistan for nurturing terrorism.“Indus Water Treaty signed in 1960 was kept in abeyance following the Pahalgam terror attack. Around 90 percent of people in Pakistan and 80 percent of agricultural production depend on water through the Indus Water Treaty. Bilateral trade with Pakistan has been suspended in response to the Pahalgam attack. On the cultural front too, we blocked the road”, he said.
