Agartala, May 15: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has strongly demanded that the Tripura government immediately fill all vacant positions across various government departments and abolish the offer letter-based recruitment system. DYFI State Secretary Nabarun Deb raised these demands during a press conference held at the Student Youth Bhavan in Melarmath today.

Deb presented detailed figures highlighting the critical gaps in state administration. He claimed that under the BJP-led government, both the healthcare and education sectors have deteriorated. "Tripura is facing a severe unemployment crisis, and the drug menace is rapidly engulfing the youth," he warned.

Though Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha recently announced plans to set up de-addiction centers in every district, Deb questioned the government’s sincerity, pointing out that key individuals involved in drug trafficking continue to operate freely. “There is no real rule of law in Tripura today. Even the police have to think twice before making arrests,” he alleged.

Deb highlighted that 2,167 higher secondary schools in the state are operating without principals. He also cited legislative records indicating over 51,000 government job vacancies until 2025. “The last engineer recruitment happened in 2017 during the Left Front’s tenure. Hospitals are still running short of doctors, nurses, and essential medical staff,” he added.

On national issues, Deb commented on the Indian Army's Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The operation, which targeted terror hubs in Pakistan and PoK, was followed by a briefing by Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh.

Deb strongly condemned derogatory remarks made by Madhya Pradesh BJP Minister Vijay Shah against Colonel Qureshi. “Such statements are unacceptable and disrespectful to those who serve the nation,” he said, demanding an apology and action against the minister.
