Agartala: Sept 28: In a recent press conference, BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharya addressed the allegations made by the opposition party CPM regarding the current state of law and order, as well as the availability of work and food in villages. Bhattacharya expressed his dissatisfaction with the CPM’s claims, stating that they are attempting to create confusion among the public.

Bhattacharya challenged the CPM to provide concrete examples to support their allegations of shortages in villages. He suggested that the CPM leaders themselves are facing a lack of supplies and noted that the collection of taxes from cannabis growers has ceased, which he implied could be a reason for their discontent.

Highlighting the achievements of the BJP government, Bhattacharya mentioned that since coming to power, pucca houses have been constructed in every village. He contrasted this with the previous Left Front rule, during which he claimed that pucca houses were scarce and primarily served as party offices for the CPM. He also accused the CPM of nepotism, alleging that jobs were distributed through backdoor channels to party members’ families during their tenure, a practice he asserted has been discontinued under the current administration.
