Centre to give Rs. 150 crore for Tripura tourism: Sushanta

Agartala: Mar 03: Tripura Tourism is set to receive a significant boost, with an additional allocation of 1.5 billion rupees from the Central Government aimed at enhancing the state's tourism infrastructure and activities. This announcement was shared by the state's Tourism Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury, on social media today.
Minister Chowdhury revealed that he recently met with Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the Cabinet Minister for the Ministry of Tourism at the Central Government, in New Delhi. During the meeting, the Minister briefed Shekhawat about the various ongoing tourism development activities and future plans of the Tripura government. As part of the discussions, Chowdhury handed over a Detailed Project Report (DPR) outlining the proposed tourism initiatives for the state.
The central government expressed its full support for the growth of tourism in Tripura. Minister Shekhawat assured that all necessary cooperation would be provided to help fulfill the tourism development goals outlined in the DPR. This commitment comes as a significant step towards realizing the state's potential as a key tourist destination in India.
The Secretary and Director of the Tourism Department of Tripura were also present during the meeting, adding further credibility to the discussions and ensuring a clear alignment between the state's objectives and the central government's support. This collaboration signals a promising future for Tripura, with the expected funding aimed at improving infrastructure, promoting cultural heritage, and enhancing the overall tourist experience in the state.
