Agartala: Mar 08: Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman has accused the BJP of using fear and coercion to gather people for their public rally, marking the party's second anniversary in government. Barman claims that the BJP realized public interest was waning and resorted to coercive tactics.
He also questioned the legitimacy of the event, wondering why the BJP only highlighted two years of their rule in banners and hoardings, despite being in power for seven years. Barman suggested this might be an attempt at personal glorification rather than a genuine celebration of the government's achievements.
The Congress MLA responded to the Chief Minister's remark that opposition parties were blind to development, arguing that the BJP government has led to setbacks in several areas, eroding public trust. Barman criticized the BJP's focus on the past, particularly the Prime Minister's emphasis on India's history, while neglecting the country's future.
In contrast, Barman highlighted Rahul Gandhi's concern for the nation's future, accusing the BJP of exploiting religious sentiments to maintain power. These comments have sparked fresh political tensions in Tripura, with many questioning the effectiveness and transparency of the current administration .
