East Agartala Police Achieve Success in Anti-Drug Operation

Agartala:Mar 05: The East Agartala Police Station has reported a significant breakthrough in its anti-drug campaign with the arrest of eight individuals involved in drug peddling. During raids conducted at various locations in Agartala city, law enforcement officials seized a considerable quantity of brown sugar, cash, and mobile phones.
The arrests were made in areas including Lalmatia in Maharajganj Bazar, a park near MBB College, and the vicinity of Agartala Town Hall. According to the Sadar Subdivision Police Officer, the operation was based on intelligence gathered during interrogations of previously detained drug peddlers.
The police revealed that the recovered brown sugar has an estimated market value exceeding four lakh taka. On Wednesday, the arrested individuals were presented before the court following a remand application submitted by the authorities. Further interrogation is expected to shed light on the network of drug-related activities.
