Couple injured in mysterious incident at apartment near police headquarters

 In a mysterious incident, a couple was grievously injured at a newly built apartment near police headquarters, police said on Friday.The injured couple identified as Biswajit Sutradhar and Rupa Sutradhar were rescued by the fire service personnel and shifted to GBP hospital.Soon after the incident, police, forensic experts, electricity department and fire service department’s personnel were carrying out extensive searches in and round the apartment- Shivalaya Apart to know the actual incident.According to occupants of the apartment, they heard explosion like sound last night and found the couple was screaming for help on the terrace of the building. However, police could not recover any clues which indicate an explosion took place.The incident triggered alarm bells among the resident of the locality. When contacted, SDPO, Sadar, DP Roy said a joint team of police, forensic experts, fire service and electricity department had undertaken an extensive search inside the structure but could not find any clues about what had happened at night.Another police officer said there might be problems in the construction of the building and only building experts could reveal the truth. “We are trying our level best to ascertain what had actually happened”, he said
