Govt provides land for setting up super specialty hospital, says CM Manik Saha

Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday asserted the government has arranged a land to the Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI), an Imphal based healthcare entity for setting up a super specialty hospital in the northeastern state.The SHRI, one of the premiere healthcare providers runs a multi-super specialty hospital in the northeast has already expressed their interest in establishing a super specialty hospital here.While addressing a government programme, the Chief Minister said “In response to the eagerness, the government has arranged land to SHRI for setting up a super specialty hospital (at Khayerpur in West Tripura). They assured us to invest Rs. 700 crore for developing healthcare facility in the state”.He said the SHRI has been successfully running a multi super specialty hospital at Imphal.  “If they move forward with the plan maintaining proper procedure, the cabinet will give its nod to the SHRI for super specialty hospital in the state. This will surely boost the state’s healthcare sector”.Claiming that the state’s healthcare infrastructure has been improved significantly over the past few years, he said the government will soon float an expression of interest to establish another super specialty hospital in the capital town.“Many people want to invest in Tripura taking the advantage of infrastructure development. If they interest in healthcare, we will welcome them for setting up super specialty hospital to stop referral tendency”, he said.
