Feud among allies, BJP activists demand TMP leaders arrest

Hundreds of BJP workers on Tuesday gathered in front Bishalgarh Police Station seeking arrest of Tipra Motha Leader and advocate Zakir Hussain. The saffron party leaders alleged that Hussain was involved in the attack on BJP worker Chiranjit Debnath. Debnath was reportedly assaulted with a firearm.Protesting against the brutal attack on party colleague, BJP activists, led by Charilam BJP Mandal President Rajkumar Debnath, along with local residents, staged a protest and besieged the Bishalgarh police station on Tuesday afternoon. They demanded the arrest of Tipra Motha activist and lawyer Zakir Hossain, who has been accused of involvement in the attack.Senior BJP leader Pratik Kishore Debbarman, son of Telangana Governor and ex-Deputy CM of Tripura, Jishnu Dev Verma also attended the rally. The protestors initially gathered at the police station, where Additional District Superintendent of Police, Rajib Sutradhar, and the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bishalgarh, Sanjit Sen, were already present.The BJP workers alleged that Zakir Hossain, who is associated with the Tipra Motha party, has been regularly attacking BJP workers in the Charilam market area, often under the guise of being a Tipra Motha party member.They also claimed that Hossain and his associates have been involved in looting and targeting BJP-owned shops in the region.“He is said to have joined forces with Maharaja Pradyot Kishore Debbarman's party to evade various legal cases, including those related to theft. BJP workers will not let him escape his misdeeds. In the entire Charilam constituency, he is known as a cheat,” Debnath said
