First meeting of JWG on Tiprasa accord held in Delhi

Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma on Friday said the first meeting of Joint Working Group (JWG) comprising the Central government, Tripura government and Tipra Motha to address the problems of Indigenous people held in Delhi.“Some said it will never happen but a historical process has started - this is the start! First round of the Tiprasa accord held along with the officials of Home ministry and state government was held in Delhi on Friday”, he wrote on Facebook.He said a detailed discussion on all points has been discussed and it was decided that there will be meeting every two-month to expedite the problems of Tiprasa people.“We have also agreed that we will meet every two months to Expedite the problems of our tiprasa people. Today we spoke as a community and not a party. I will continue to strive to give our people dignity and a better tomorrow”, he said.AK Mishra, the advisor (Northeast), Ministry of Home Affairs remained present in the meeting while (Pradyot Kishore Manikya) Debbarma represented Tipra Motha and secretary of Tribal Welfare department, Brijesh Pandey represented the state.The meeting was the follow up of the tripartite agreement signed on March 2,2024 to address the problems of indigenous people.
