Days after the murder of a young girl, her parents made a heart-wrenching appeal to Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha seeking death penalty for the person responsible for the death.According to Chandan Debnath, the visually impaired father of the deceased identified as Rupali Debnath, she was abducted and killed by one Rupam Das, a resident of Bishalgarh’s Murabari area.Rupali who originally hails from Jirania had been staying with maternal uncle’s house for her studies in Bishalgarh. She had always made us proud but for the past few months she was upset because of the boy who constantly disturbed her,” said Debnath. He said Rupali was kidnapped by the accused from her aunt’s house located at Chandrapur under East Agartala Police station. She was taken to a rented house near Tripura Medical College and her mortal remains were found there.“When the boy started to stalk and disturb her, she disclosed everything in front of us. She had refused her love proposal multiple times which left the boy fuming in anger. He had issued threats as well,” a teary-eyed Debnath told media persons. The family lodged a specific police complaint against Das with Amtali police station on Friday. Initially, the police registered an Unnatural Death case and started the investigation.  “We demand intervention of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha into the case and the accused should be sentenced with the death penalty,” Debnath said
