Agartala: Feb 14: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday between the National Forensic Science University, Tripura Campus, and the National Law University, Agartala, to foster academic collaboration, research initiatives, and student exchange programs. The signing ceremony took place at the National Forensic Science University, Tripura Campus, with key figures from both institutions present.

The event was attended by HK Pratihari, Director of the National Forensic Science University, Tripura Campus, and Professor Dr. YP Singh, Vice Chancellor of the National Law University, Agartala, along with other dignitaries. During his address, Professor Dr. YP Singh highlighted the significance of the MoU in promoting the exchange of knowledge and resources between the two institutions. He emphasized the importance of forensic science in the judicial system, stating that often trials fail to conclude due to a lack of concrete evidence. He pointed out that verdicts or judgments cannot be made based on mere suspicion, making the role of forensic science critical in ensuring justice.

Professor Singh further elaborated on the need for collaboration between law and forensic science to enhance the quality of legal proceedings and support the justice system. This partnership aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge, bridging the gap between forensic science and legal studies.

Through this MoU, both universities will work together on various academic and research projects, providing students with opportunities for practical learning through student exchange programs. The collaboration aims to strengthen the academic framework in both fields, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive education that integrates forensic science with legal expertise.
