Northeast Frontier Railway Extends Train Services in Assam and Tripura

Agartala: June 15: Responding to public demand, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the extension of two train services to better connect regions in Assam and Tripura. Starting June 16, 2024, the Kanchanjunga Express (train no. 13173/13174) will extend from Agartala to Sabroom, and the Intercity Express (train no. 15769/15770) will extend from Lumding to Mariani.

The Kanchanjunga Express will now provide direct connectivity to Kolkata for South Tripura’s passengers, benefiting local businesses, students, and patients. The Intercity Express aims to enhance rail connectivity between North Bengal and Upper Assam, promoting regional economic activities.

Passengers can access detailed stoppages and timetables on the IRCTC website, NTES app, and NFR’s social media platforms.
