Agartala, June 21: Tripura Pradesh Congress on Friday took out a protest march on Rajpath against irregularities in National Eligibility Test (NET) and University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) examinations.

Party workers burnt effigies of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and demanded his resignation.

Tripura Pradesh Congress President Asok Kumar Saha, MLA Sudip Roy Barman and others were present in the protest march.

Talking to reporters, Asok Kumar Saha alleged that there have been repeated allegations of irregularities in the examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Now the UGC-NET exam has been cancelled. A frustrating situation is prevailing among the youth of the country. Cases are being filed in the High Courts of various states against the irregularities in the examinations. Despite protests across the country against this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan are playing a silent role.

MLA Sudip Roy Barman said that the Modi government is a question paper leak government. Their main objective is to earn huge money. As many as 70 question papers have been leaked across the country during the Modi government's tenure. Meritorious students have not got due places in NET exam. Those who are ineligible have got places. Because, the Modi government wants wrong treatment in the country.
