Over 17,000 people recruited in govt service till March 2025: Tripura CM

Agartala, Apr. 30 : Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha spoke on Wednesday asserted that more than 17,000 aspirants had been recruited in government service since the BJP government came to power in the state. According to him, more than 3,000 job offers had been distributed among the selected candidates till April 2025.
“Till March 30, the total number of aspirants received job offers after selection stands at 17,554. Several hundreds of job offers had been distributed among the eligible candidates who had been selected through selection tests. Earlier in the month, 479 new recruits received job offers. Today, as many as 228 selected candidates received job offers. If all put together, the total number of candidates who had received job offers in 2015 stands at 3,554. The total jobs include a significant number of die-in-harness jobs,” Dr Saha said.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the offer distribution ceremony of 228 newly recruited teachers selected through Teachers Eligibility Test.
Stating that the unemployment rate is less than that of the national average in Tripura, Dr Saha said, “According to the periodic survey of the labour department, the unemployment rate in Tripura stands at 1.7 percent while the national average is 3.7 percent. In 2018-19, Tripura’s unemployment rate was 10 percent much higher than that of the national average of 5.8 percent.”
According to the Chief Minister, 2.1 lakh micro level industries had been registered with the state government under the MSME scheme.
