Politicians salute mass leader, Surajit Dutta for his unwavering help to people

Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb expressed shock over the death of a ‘mass leader’ Surajit Dutta, a seven-time MLA of Ramnagar. In a Facebook post, the former Chief Minister recalled, “The last time I met and took blessing from MLA Surajit Dutta was on October 10, 2023. My experience with the late leader will remain in my memory forever”.Saying that he was a true politician who had worked for the people irrespective of political colour, Deb said he sought valuable tips from the late MLA who had got unwavering support from the people of Ramnagar.“May his soul rest in peace. I also rendered sincere condolence to the bereaved family in the hours of crisis”, he added.“We lost a political star. It was not only irreparable loss to the party but also the people of the state as he rendered service to the people for several years. Most importantly, he was highly admired by the people of his constituency”, party state president Rajib Bhattacharjee told the media.Bhattacharjee, who visited for MLAs’ residence at Ramngar to console the bereaved family, said Suno-day will find a place in people’s mind for ever for his helping attitude.Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman also lauded the role of Surajit Dutta for lending a helping hand to the people when need the most.CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Choudhury paid tribute to the departed soul appreciating his works for the people.Taking the social media, Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Manikya said, “My heartfelt condolences to the family members of our Former Colleague and MLA Surjit Datta on his passing away .He worked with my parents and also with me during his reign as a congress member , may his soul rest in peace .
