Agartala, Jun. 15 : Worried by the post-poll violence in West Bengal, the BJP on Saturday formed a four-member committee headed by MP Biplab Kumar Deb to evaluate the incidents of political violence in the Trinamool ruled state.

“The BJP has formed a Committee to evaluate the incidents of political violence that have continued in West Bengal incessantly following the 2024 Lok Sabha elections”, the party posted on X  handle.

“Members of this committee will visit West Bengal and present a detailed report on the incidents to BJP National President Shri @JPNadda’ it said.

“We have just seen Lok Sabha elections conclude across 28 states and eight UTs. Among the Assembly elections held, along with transfer of power in two states. All this happened peacefully with no instance of political violence reported from anywhere. Except for West Bengal, which continues to be in the vice grip of post poll violence , the kind we saw post 2021 Assembly elections”, party’s national general secretary (Org)  Arun Singh said in a press release.

He continued, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remains mute spectator while criminals of her party attack and intimidate opposition workers and voters with impunity.

The other three members include three MPs- Ravishankar Prasad, Brijlal and Kavita Patidar.
