Agartala, June. 14: Bringing more woes to Bubagra, Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma on Friday demanded to lodge a specific FIR against the head of recruitment board chairman for his alleged involvement in recruitment scam in Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

The Tipra Motha controlled tribal council had constituted a five-member recruitment board headed by Datamohan Jamatia, former Law Secretary of the state government to fill up 110 posts of different categories including Sub-Zonal Development Officer (SZDO).

A day before the examination, the question paper was leaked from the custody of the recruitment board’s chairman on June 6 prompting the authority to cancel the examination immediately.

As part of damage control exercise, an FIR was lodged over the leakage of question papers and two persons were also arrested as part of investigation.

However, Tipra Motha MLA (Rajit) Debbarma said he demands lodging of FIR against the chairman and other members of the recruitment board to let them face the judicial process.

“The recruitment board has been dissolved but the chairman and other member of the board need to face judicial progress. An FIR is required to be filed against them for thorough investigation”, he said.

“Prior permission is required from the High Court before lodging FIR against Datamohan Jamatia because he was a senior judicial officer. The permission can be sought either by the police or ADC administration”, he said.

Debbarma also sought removal of the CEO (chief executive member) of the tribal council, CK Jamatia from his position till the proper investigation into the scam gets completed because he is the administration chief of the ADC.
