U-Win portal for immunisation in Tripura started for registration on vaccination

The Intensified Mission Indradhanush program is going to start with its unique feature. This specialty of IMI is the hoisting of U-Win Portal. Health department has already started massive campaigning about the utilisation of this portal and applications for both beneficiaries and health care workers. A new horizon & a step of universal vaccination program towards digitalisation of its process. The work of the U-Win portal has already started in Gomati district. Registration of pregnant women and children is currently going on throughout the District. Through the portal is able to track the child for timely vaccination which is very important to meet the criteria to vaccinate the right vaccine at the right time. Till now this work was done by hand writing or manually.

What is this U-Win web portal? District Vaccine Cold Chain Manager Pankaj Das, a UNDP official working in the CMO Office and looking after the system said that the vaccination card has become a completely digital system through the U-Win portal. E-Certificate is also being issued to the beneficiary at the end of each dose of vaccine. The certificate will continue to be updated and the final certificate will be available as and when the child receives the full immunisation after 9 months of child’s age.

Currently there is an MCP card at present. But there is also the risk of being lost. District Immunization Officer Dr. Chiranjit Nowatia said, now there is no more fear of losing the vaccination card. Because the e-certificate can be downloaded from any place only after the vaccination of the child is completed. He said this certificate is fully valid and approved. However, Dr. Nowatia clarified that even though the U-Win portal has been launched, the MCP card is not going to disappear now.

It has more advantages. The child is registered in the hospital immediately after birth. So, the next vaccinations could be done by doctors to the child on time with the help of U-Win. Any expectant mother and baby's guardian can also book the vaccination centre and vaccination schedule itself on this portal as per their convention. The specific date of the next vaccination will also be available on the portal. SMS messages alert about the next vaccination schedule will also be introduced very soon. This will greatly help parents to vaccinate children on time, health officials said.
