69th death anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar observes

Agartala: Dec 06: The 69th death anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of India's Constitution and Bharat Ratna, was observed with due respect in the state today. In the morning, the Minister of Scheduled Caste Welfare, Sudhanshu Das, along with the Chairman of West Tripura District Council, Balai Goswami, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Manika Das Dutt, Secretary of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department Dipa D. Nayar, Superintendent Jayanta Dey, and Superintendent of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department Tapan Kumar Das, paid floral tributes to the marble statue of Dr. Ambedkar at Ujjayanta Palace. The event was organized by the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department. Students, teachers, and artists from various schools and hostels also paid floral tributes to the statue of Dr. Ambedkar.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister of Scheduled Caste Welfare, Sudhanshu Das, said that Dr. Ambedkar was a philosopher, economist, politician, social reformer, and the architect of the Constitution. Dr. Ambedkar aspired to build a new India free from casteism, discrimination, and where justice and equality prevailed. He further stated that Dr. Ambedkar's life is a blessing for us. He worked not only for the upliftment of the untouchables and the backward classes but also for the development of all. Dr. Ambedkar was a man of rare talent. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also following the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar.
The Chairman of West Tripura District Council, Balai Goswami, presided over the function. The welcome speech was delivered by the Secretary of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, Dipa D. Nayar. Artists from the Sachin Dev Burman Memorial Government Music College performed bhajans at the event.
