Adding more fuel to the ongoing tussle over construction of an embankment on the other side of Kailashahar border, the Congress on Wednesday announced to organize a ‘long march toward border’ on January 25.At a press conference, senior Congress MLA Birajit Sinha said the Congress will organize a ‘long march to the border’ demanding immediate repairs of embankment on the Indian side to save Kailashahar town.“The people of Kailashahar are concerned about Bangladesh constructing a massive embankment on the zero line. They are quall worried over the state government’s soft role. The Congress can’t sit idle. We will organise a long march to the border in January 25 to save Kailashahar. We want the state government to undertake repair work on the embankment in a war footing manner”, he said.Sinha said the Congress will also stage a road blockade at Tillabazar for an hour to draw the attention of the state government as well as the Centre.“If Bangladesh completes construction of the embankment, Kailashahar town will be submerged during the monsoon. The Centre must take up the issue seriously”, he said
