Agartala: Dec 02: A Hindu organization has vandalized the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Agartala, India, in protest against the ongoing atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh and the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, a prominent Hindu figure. The protesters, who gathered outside the High Commission, expressed their outrage by setting fire to the national flag of Bangladesh and staging a protest. The incident has sparked significant tension in the area, prompting a heavy deployment of police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) forces to control the situation.
A woman from the protesting group stated, "Hindus in Bangladesh are suffering daily persecution, and Chinmoy Krishna Das has been arrested without any legitimate cause. His arrest, a Hindu religious leader, is completely unacceptable. The Bangladesh government must take responsibility for the ongoing situation in Bangladesh." The protesters voiced strong condemnation of the government's actions and made it clear that the mistreatment of Hindus and the arrest of innocent individuals like Chinmoy Krishna Das could not be tolerated.
In response to the protest, a large police presence was quickly dispatched to the scene. After significant efforts, the situation was brought under control. Despite this, the protesters continued to demand the immediate release of Chinmoy Krishna Das and the assurance of safety and rights for Hindus living in Bangladesh. They warned that if their demands were not met, they would escalate their protest into a larger movement.
The incident has highlighted the growing concern over the safety of religious minorities in Bangladesh, especially Hindus, and has drawn attention to the ongoing tensions between communities in both Bangladesh and India.
