Six Rohingya all female arrested in Kailashahar

Six female Rohingya citizens, who were planning to return Bangladesh after spending considerable time in Bangalore, were arrested from Tripura’s Unakoti district on Saturday, police said.Based on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of a ground of Rohingya citizens at Saprikandi, a border village of Kailashahar subdivision, a police team conducted a raid on Saturday morning and detained six suspected Rohinha- all are female.“During interrogation, they admitted they came from Bangalore on January 15 and had a plan to return to Bangladesh. One identity card issued by UNHCR was recovered indicating that the group belong to the Rohingya camp in Bangladesh”, Taruni Jamatia, a Sub-Inspector of Irani police station said.He said all six Rohingya citizens were arrested under The Indian Passport Act and 249 of the BNS for illegal entry into Indian territory. All the arrested Rohinga citizens were produced before a local seeking judicial remand, he said
