Agartala: Jan 22: Tripura is set to showcase its rich cultural heritage at the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi, with its tableau highlighting the state's traditional festival, Kharchi Puja. This significant worship of fourteen deities is a centuries-old practice that dates back to royal times.
The tableau will beautifully blend tradition and modernity, featuring bamboo-based handicrafts alongside modern technology. Models in traditional attire and a bamboo frame will symbolize progress, while intricate bamboo and cane crafts will represent the fourteen deities.
The worship of Ha Buma (Earth Mother), an important cultural aspect of the region, will also be depicted. A priest performing the puja in traditional attire, surrounded by bamboo and floral crafts and elements of modern art, will showcase the deep spiritual beliefs of Tripura's people.
Through this tableau, Tripura aims to celebrate its ancient spiritual practices and its ability to evolve with the times, representing the perfect balance between heritage and modernity.
