In a meticulously planned operation, Assam Rifles intercepted move of narcotics in General Area Salbagan, West Tripura district on 20 Jan 25.The operation resulted in the recovery of 60,000 yaba tablets, valued at approximately Rs 12 crore in the international market.Two individuals were apprehended in connection with the smuggling activity i.e Kanai Das (Age: 36), S/o Sukumar Das, Village Bamutia, West Tripura and Kishan Kumar Sarkar (Age: 32), S/o Sachi Kumar Sarkar, Village Rangutia, West Tripura.The recovered contraband and the apprehended individuals have been handed over to Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for further investigation and legal proceedings. This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of Assam Rifles in combating smuggling and safeguarding the region from the menace of drug trafficking.#AssamRifles successfully intercepted a major smuggling attempt in Salbagan, West Tripura, seizing 60,000 yaba tablets worth Rs 12 Cr.
