Government is planning a special tourism circuit in South Tripura: Tourism Minister

Agartala: Jan 20: Tripura is gearing up to boost its tourism sector, with the state government announcing plans to develop eco-tourism at the Unakoti Sonamukhi tourist destination. This iconic site, recognized by the Archaeological Survey of India, will undergo significant development to enhance its appeal as an eco-tourism hub, with a substantial investment of Rs. 70 crore allocated for these activities.
To further promote tourism, the government is planning a special tourism circuit in South Tripura, which will include popular attractions like, Pilak Archaeological Site: A treasure trove of historical artifacts and structures, Mahamuni Buddhist Pagoda: A sacred site for Buddhist devotees, Maitri Setu: A bridge connecting India and Bangladesh, symbolizing friendship and cooperation, Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary: A haven for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts
These initiatives aim to provide a comprehensive travel experience, showcasing the region's rich cultural, historical, and natural heritage. By developing tourism infrastructure and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities, the government hopes to empower local communities, foster economic growth, and provide new opportunities for the younger generation .
