Animesh Debbarma inaugurates Four-day district-level Vidya Fest

Agartala: Nov 29: A four-day district-level Vidya Fest has begun today at the new town hall in Khowai, organized by the District Level Vidya Fest Organizing Committee. The event was inaugurated by Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma, who emphasized the government's focus on preserving and promoting the state’s traditional culture and heritage. He stressed the importance of educating the current generation about these traditions and ensuring students receive quality education that equips them for the welfare of the country and its people.

Apurna Singha Roy (Dutta), Chairperson of Khowai Zila Parishad, highlighted the government's efforts to improve both education infrastructure and overall development in the state. She called for enhancing the quality of education to better serve students.

The inaugural ceremony also featured speeches from Khowai District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, who delivered the welcome address, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Charu Verma, who presided over the event. Other distinguished attendees included Padmashree Deepa Karmakar, Additional District Magistrate Sumit Kumar Pandey, and District Education Officer Dinesh Debbarma.

Students from various schools performed patriotic songs and dances, and a documentary on child marriage was screened. The event will feature 28 competitions, including music, dance, drama, essay writing, art, yoga, and more, with participation from 12 Vidya Jyoti schools in Khowai district. Twelve exhibition stalls have been set up at the venue. The festival will conclude with a closing ceremony at Teliamura Town Hall on December 2.
