Agartala: Dec 22: Opposition leader Jitendra Chowdhury has raised serious concerns over the BJP's Mandal president elections, accusing the ruling party of using money and muscle power to influence the outcome. Chowdhury claims that the BJP is engaging in unconstitutional and illegal practices to secure votes, with party leaders relying on financial influence and coercion. He emphasized that this practice is being exposed through various reports in the media, which hint at the growing misuse of power within the BJP.
Chowdhury further criticized the BJP for its excessive spending during elections, suggesting that the party allocates a hundred times more money than other political groups. He argued that this misuse of funds undermines the democratic process and contributes to the deterioration of law and order in the state.
Additionally, he took a swipe at the BJP’s stance on the "One Nation, One Election" concept. Chowdhury pointed out the irony, stating that if the BJP truly cared about saving time and resources during elections, it should cease its "unconstitutional activities," such as allegedly buying and selling MLAs. His comments reflect growing dissatisfaction with the BJP's methods, particularly its focus on money and power politics at the expense of fair and free elections.
