Dr. Burhan U. Choudhury Elected as IAHF Fellow 2022 at National Conference

The Indian Association of Hill Farming (IAHF) has elected Dr. Burhan U. Choudhury, a notable scientist from the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Tripura Center, as a Fellow for 2022. The award was given out at the National Conference, which took place at the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Center, Medziphema, on November 29–30, 2024. The Indian Association of Hill Farming, established in 1987 and headquartered at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya, is committed to promoting sustainable agricultural practices in India’s hill regions. The organization addresses the unique challenges of hill farming through research, education, and collaboration. Its official publication, The Indian Journal of Hill Farming (NAAS rating 4.67), provides a platform for advancing research in this sector. The IAHF annually recognizes four Fellows alongside awards for Best Extensionist, Young Scientist, Best MSc Thesis, and Best PhD Thesis. It also organizes workshops and seminars to foster dialogue among scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders on agricultural innovations in horticulture, animal sciences, and fisheries. Dr. Choudhury’s fellowship highlights his significant contributions to hill farming research and underscores his dedication to improving agricultural sustainability in the region
