Agartala: Mar 16: On the occasion of the 95th death anniversary of the revolutionary Bhagat Singh, a blood donation camp was organized today by the DYFI Mohanpur division at the CPM office in Bamutia Kali Bazaar. The event was inaugurated by former Chief Minister and CPM Politburo member, Manik Sarkar, who was present to support and encourage the initiative.
During his inaugural speech, Manik Sarkar praised the blood donation camp as a noble effort in service to humanity. He expressed his gratitude to the donors, recognizing their selfless contribution to a cause that could save lives. "This is a noble initiative that serves humanity," Sarkar remarked, highlighting the importance of such activities in times of need.
However, while applauding the initiative, Sarkar also took the opportunity to voice his concerns over the deteriorating health and education systems in the state. Criticizing the government’s negligence in these critical sectors, he said, "The deterioration in the health and education sectors is evident. The government should pay more attention to these areas." His remarks reflected a growing concern about the state’s infrastructure, particularly in essential public services that affect the everyday lives of the people.
The blood donation camp itself was a success, with a large turnout of young men and women volunteering to donate blood. The event ran smoothly, and blood was successfully collected, with participants leaving the camp knowing they had contributed to a life-saving cause.
This event not only honored Bhagat Singh’s legacy but also reinforced the spirit of community service and activism, while simultaneously raising awareness about the critical need for improvements in the state’s health and education sectors.
