Agartala: Mar 16: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emphasized its focus on alliances and development during a meeting held at Rabindra Centenary Bhavan on Sunday. The event, organized by Janajati Morcha in collaboration with MDCs, MLAs, and ministers, centered around the slogans "Swashaktikaran Janajati" (Empowerment of Tribals) and "Swashaktikaran Tipra" (Empowerment of Tipra), reflecting the party’s commitment to strengthening tribal communities in Tripura.
In his address, MP and state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee underscored the significance of alliances, drawing comparisons to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who led the country successfully under the NDA alliance. He emphasized that the BJP, along with its partners the IPFT and Tipra Matha, is working together for the collective progress of Tripura’s tribal population.
Bhattacharjee outlined several initiatives undertaken by the government to uplift tribal areas, such as the establishment of 18 Eklavya schools to improve educational standards and the rehabilitation of the Ryang community from Mizoram. He also highlighted the provision of scholarships for tribal students and efforts to promote financial self-reliance among local populations.
The MP also pointed to the financial package announced by Prime Minister Modi for Dhalai district, a region classified as backward. The funds are being utilized to improve infrastructure, including roads, drinking water, education, and healthcare, with the aim of bringing prosperity to the district.
The meeting, attended by Minister Vikas Debbarma, State BJP Joint Secretary Bhagwan Chandra Das, and other MDCs, served as a platform to showcase the government’s development initiatives. The BJP plans to continue highlighting these efforts to the public to reinforce its commitment to the region’s progress.
