Man allegedly killed by friends at Takarjala

A 26-year-old youth was brutally killed by his three friends on Monday night. His mortal remains were discovered at a rubber plantation near his house on Tuesday morning when locals launched a search for him, a police official has said. The incident took place at Paillabhanga village under the jurisdiction of Takarjala police station in Sepahijala district. The deceased, rubber grower in profession, is identified as Mangalcharan Debbarma.Speaking to the media persons, wife of the deceased person Jyotika Tripura said her husband ventured out of home with three of his friends.“He used to spend time with them quite often. It looked quite normal that he was going for a ride. When he didn’t return late in the night, we made repeated phone calls which went unanswered. In the morning, his mortal remains were found in the nearby rubber plantation,” Tripura added.According to his wife, the deceased was carrying a good amount of cash which he earned after selling a recent consignment of rubber sheets.On being informed, a team of police from Takarjala police station rushed to the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem examination.
