Man lynched in suspicion of thief at Sonamura, tension

A-35-year old man identified as Babul Miah was lynched to death by an irate mob inside the premises of Jawahar Navoday Vidyalay (JNV) school, South Tripura district on Sunday night. Miah was reportedly caught red handed while attempting to steal valuable materials from the school. Miah suffered grievous injuries after locals thrashed him inhumanly on being caught. He was later shifted to Belonia hospital for treatment but on-duty doctors declared him dead on arrival. Speaking on the issue, a police officer said, “According to the preliminary investigation, the deceased entered the JNV school premises with the malice motive of theft but he was caught red handed. He tried to run away but the frenzied inmates thrashed him leading to his death. Further investigation into the matter is underway.” It is learnt that Mia is a resident of Bashpadua area of Belonia in South Tripura district
