Agartala: Jan 11: Former Chief Minister and Politburo member Manik Sarkar has launched a scathing attack on the BJP, IPFT, and Tipra Motha, accusing them of "criminal" actions against the people of Tripura. Sarkar's criticism comes from the parties' failure to deliver on their promises, particularly in addressing unemployment and providing adequate wages for agricultural workers.
Sarkar reminded the public of the BJP's 2018 promises to solve the state's unemployment problem, which have remained unfulfilled even after seven years. He highlighted the contrast between the BJP's performance and that of the previous Left Front government, which provided priority-based government jobs twice a year.
The BJP's failure to provide a daily wage of ₹300 for agricultural workers, as promised in 2018, was also criticized by Sarkar. Currently, workers receive only ₹240 and are given work for an average of just 32 days a year.
Sarkar also targeted Tipra Motha, accusing them of betraying the people by providing indirect support to the BJP in the 2023 assembly elections. He alleged that Tipra Motha's leaders deliberately fielded candidates in unreserved seats, ultimately safeguarding the BJP's position and preventing the Left Front from coming to power .
In conclusion, Sarkar urged the people of Tripura to fight against the BJP, Tipra Motha, and IPFT, and to be cautious of their false promises. He emphasized the need for a struggle to ensure a better future for the state .
