Agartala: Mar 01: A massive fire broke out in the area near the Grandiose Club in the capital after a gas pipeline ruptured. It was reported that a group of workers was digging the ground near the area when suddenly the underground gas pipeline broke, causing gas to leak. The leaked gas eventually caught fire, leading to a dangerous blaze.

Upon seeing the towering flames, local residents quickly alerted the fire service. Two fire engines were promptly dispatched to the scene. Firefighters worked swiftly and managed to bring the fire under control, preventing any major damage. A fire official stated that while the fire was controlled, gas continued to leak from the damaged pipeline. The cause of the leak was believed to be the excavation work, which likely caused the rupture of the gas pipeline.

After the fire was brought under control, workers from the Tripura Natural Gas Corporation Limited (TNGCL) arrived at the scene. They quickly started repairing the damaged gas pipeline to stop the leakage. Fortunately, no significant damage or casualties were reported due to the quick response of the fire department and the timely intervention of the gas company. The incident highlighted the potential risks associated with underground gas pipelines and the need for careful handling during construction and maintenance work.
