Agartala: Mar 10: A recent incident in Udaipur has sparked concern and tension between the Congress and BJP parties. On March 6, a brutal attack occurred in Tulamura, where two individuals were tied up and beaten over a land dispute. Despite a case being registered, the accused were allegedly roaming free, prompting a Congress team, led by Nitya Gopal Das, to investigate.

The situation escalated when the Congress team, including District Congress President Titon Pal, visited the police station to discuss the matter. Eight BJP supporters, including Kakraban Mandal President Biswajit Sarkar, allegedly entered the police station, threatening the Congress leadership and warning them against raising slogans against the BJP.

The Congress leadership sought police protection, and the Additional Superintendent of Police arranged for an escort. However, Titon Pal alleged that even with police security, their vehicle was attacked with large stones on the way back to Udaipur.

The District Congress has expressed deep concern over the incident, accusing the BJP of using force to suppress the Congress movement. Despite facing challenges, Congress leaders remain optimistic, with Titon Pal stating that the Congress will continue to expand in the region despite obstacles from the BJP.
