Agartala: Mar 11: In a scathing attack on the previous Left-Congress government in Tripura, state BJP president and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee strongly criticized the CPM and Congress for their lack of developmental work in the state. Speaking in Parliament, Bhattacharjee accused the two parties of ruling by deceiving the poor and failing to bring any meaningful change to the state's infrastructure and public services. According to Bhattacharya, both the CPM and Congress did not prioritize the welfare of the people but instead exploited them for political gain.
Bhattacharjee highlighted the significant economic development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, particularly in the northeastern region, noting that Tripura has also benefited from this progress. He emphasized that the current BJP government has brought about unprecedented changes in various sectors, including healthcare. According to Bhattacharya, Tripura's healthcare services have undergone remarkable improvements, with enhanced medical infrastructure and better access to quality treatment. However, he lamented that during the CPM and Congress regimes, the healthcare system in the state was neglected, and no serious efforts were made to improve it.
The BJP leader further pointed out that, under the rule of the Left and Congress, there was no significant development in Tripura. Instead, he claimed that the Communist regime propagated a divisive and destructive ideology, where the slogan was "Give, give, or else break and destroy." Bhattacharya's remarks underscored the BJP's narrative that the previous governments had failed to deliver on their promises, and the current administration, under Modi's leadership, is committed to transforming the state and uplifting its people.
This criticism of the past governments highlights the BJP's focus on showcasing its development agenda while positioning itself as the party of change and progress for Tripura.
