Senior Cong leader Badruzzaman refutes joining BJP

Agartala, Mar. 13: Senior Congress leader Md Badruzzaman has denied joining the BJP amidst rumours of his possible switching over.

While addressing a press conference, Congress district president for Unakoti,  Badruzzaman   on Wednesday rubbished the media speculation over his switching over from the Congress to the ruling party.

“I have been with the Congress since 1972… From a grass root level worker to become district president and chairman of Gournagar Panchayat Samity I have been working for the welfare of the people. I will remain with my party as long as I am alive”, he said.

“I met the CM to brief him about some development works in my areas. Could I not meet the Chief Minister? Don’t read extra on my meeting with the Chief Minister”, he said. ------ (over)
