A group of thirty farmers from various villages under the Tepaniya R.D. Block in Gomati District, Tripura, recently participated in an intensive three-day training program at the Ramakrishna Mission in Narendrapur, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. The training, which began on August 29, was designed to impart modern poultry farming techniques, equipping the farmers with essential knowledge to enhance their agricultural practices and improve their livelihoods. The program was organized by the Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited (BAPCL) and financially supported by the NABARD Tripura Regional Office. Given the growing demand for poultry products in the market, the training aimed to empower these farmers, many of whom have small land holdings, by providing them with a viable pathway to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in the poultry sector.Over the course of the three days, experienced faculty members shared insights into the latest technologies and methods in poultry farming. The training emphasized the importance of adopting modern, cost-effective technologies to increase both production and productivity, ultimately helping the farmers achieve greater economic success. One of the participants, Itika Majumder, an entrepreneur involved in livestock activities in Tripura, praised the program for its practical approach. She highlighted how the training offered valuable knowledge on modern poultry farming, which she believes will significantly benefit the farming community in her region.Namita Bhowmik, another entrepreneur from Tripura, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the long-term benefits of the NABARD-sponsored training. She noted that the skills and knowledge gained would not only enhance business startups but also provide access to crucial financial support through various loan schemes, including Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Joint Liability Groups (JLGs), and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).The training program represents a crucial step in equipping Tripura's farmers with the necessary tools and knowledge to thrive in modern agriculture and entrepreneurship, paving the way for economic growth and sustainability in the region
