Tripura steals the show at G20 exhibition in Pune

The G20 exhibition on FLN was inaugurated today by Hon’ble Minister of State, Smt
Annapurna Devi, at Savitri Bai Phule Pune University. Nearly all states and UTs have
participated. Renowned international and national bodies like – CBSE, NCERT, Microsoft,
Google, World Bank, UNESCO, UNICEF and a number of nationally renowned NGOs. On the
first day itself Tripura has been praised by one and all for its innovations in NIPUN. The
main centre of attraction was bamboo based TLMs and the hand made TLMs made by the
teachers. Students and teachers of Pune thronged the stall of Tripura and were delighted to
see and play with the TLMs. The four member team of Tripura is being led by the Nodal
officer of NIPUN Tripura Sri Abhijit Samajpati. Other members are Debasish Bhowmik,
Mrigank Mukherjee and Prakash Rao who are the members of PMU.
Additional Secretary of Ministry of Education Sri Vipin Kumar ,IAS visited the stall and was
highly pleased over the efforts of the state to make NIPUN successful. The stall of Tripura
and the activities of the state for NIPUN were also praised by SPD Samagra Shiksha Madhya
Pradesh Sri S Dhanraju , Secretary Education of Chandigarh Ms Purva Garg , IAS ,Secretary
School Education of Jharkhand Sri Ravi Kumar IAS,Secretary of Uttarakhand Sri Ravinath
Raman , IAS Director of Kilkari ,School Education Department Bihar Mrs Jyoti Parihar and
even by other state officials and representatives of West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and
Chattisgarh, Telenga and UttarPradesh.
G20 Janbhagidari programme has been a massive success in Tripura with about 55% of the
state’s population being touched and engaged. This was an initiative for 15 days from 1-15
June, leading to the commencement of the G20 EdWG exhibition and conferences in Pune,
Maharashtra. The strategic blueprint for the Janbhagidari engagements across the state and
the planning and implementation at the exhibition is being carried by the NIPUN-PMU,
under the Directorate of Elementary Education.
The highest priority for the school education system is to achieve universal acquisition of
Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) skills at primary level by 2026-27. PMU for
NIPUN working under Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) has been planning,
supporting in implementation of all NIPUN related activities, monitoring and reporting. It is
to be mentioned here that NIPUN Tripura has become the talking point of all schools across
the state due to the various initiatives of the Directorate of Elementary Education.
