Bangladeshi man arrested from Bangalore for human trafficking

A team of Tripura Police comprising officials from the Crime Branch and Government Railway Police units on Monday arrested a Bangladeshi national from Bangalore for his alleged links with an organized human trafficking network operating in Tripura and other North Eastern states.The accused identified as Niloy Ahmed Joy had been brought to Agartala after obtaining a transit remand from Bangalore court, an official said on Tuesday.Sharing background of the case, officer in-charge Government Railway Police station Agartala, Tapas Das said, “On January 19, we had registered a specific case followed by the arrest of three Bangladeshi women. Based on findings of the investigation of the case and information divulged by the arrested persons, we came to know that Niloy Ahmed Joy had been playing an instrumental role in the cross border human trafficking through Tripura. He was currently based out of Bangalore but he originally hails from Dhaka. His house is located under the jurisdiction of Jatrabari Police Station. Subsequently, a team of cops reached Bangalore and tracked him down using the cell-phone location tracking system. Soon after his arrest, he was brought back to Agartala
