Agartala: Feb 21: The Tripura Sundari temple in Udaipur is nearing completion of its reconstruction, part of the Prasad project, with a planned inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 7. A preparatory meeting was held at the Matabari office, attended by Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy, MLA Abhishek Debroy, and other officials.

Minister Roy confirmed that final preparations are underway, with various departments set to complete their tasks by March 20. To maintain the temple's sacred atmosphere, vegetarian-only food policies will be enforced in certain areas around the temple . The District Magistrate is currently assessing the extent of these regulations.

The minister also addressed social media rumors about a color change to the temple, dismissing them as unfounded. He emphasized that no one could alter the temple's appearance unless it was divinely intended. Roy criticized those spreading such claims, calling them atheists who likely had never visited the temple.

The government is committed to ensuring the sanctity and safety of the Tripura Sundari temple, taking necessary steps to protect its revered status. This is particularly important, given the increasing number of domestic and international tourists visiting the site.

The Tripura Sundari temple is a significant Hindu shrine, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India, and a major tourist destination . It's known for its beautiful architecture and scenic surroundings, including the Kalyan Sagar lake, which is home to rare bostami turtles .
