Farmers Gain Valuable Insights during Exposure Visit to Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited in Tripura

In an effort to promote agricultural excellence and encourage knowledge-sharing within the farming community, an enlightening exposure visit was organized on 20th September last to Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited (BAPCL) in the picturesque Gomati District of Tripura. The visit aimed to provide local farmers with a unique opportunity to observe and learn from BAPCL's flourishing agricultural ventures, including fishery, piggery, goat farming, paddy seed village, dairy for milk collection, and marketing.
Under the auspices of the Tepaniya R.D. Block in the Udaipur subdivision, the event brought together a host of influential figures in the field of agriculture and rural development. Notable attendees included Mandira Chakrabarti, the KVK (Krishi Vigyan Kendra) incharge from West Tripura District, and Debashish Datta, the Agri Extension Officer representing KVK West Tripura.
Sudip Majumder, the Managing Director of BAPCL, played a pivotal role in facilitating the visit. He extended a warm welcome to the farmers, providing them with valuable insights into BAPCL's multifaceted agricultural activities. Majumder underscored the significance of sustainable and diversified farming practices, highlighting their role in bolstering rural livelihoods and the local community.
Md. Farukul Islam, the Chief Executive Officer of BAPCL, shared his wealth of experience and expertise in managing agricultural production and marketing. He elucidated various strategies employed by BAPCL to ensure equitable pricing and unhindered market access for local farmers.
Jayasree Sen, the Project Officer of the TDF (Tribal Development Fund) Project implemented by BAPCL, offered an overview of the project's objectives and achievements. The project's overarching aim is to empower rural communities through capacity building, skill development, and improved access to vital resources.
A noteworthy highlight of the visit was a spirited panel discussion, which brought together the board of directors of BAPCL and the visiting farmers. The discussion spanned a wide array of agriculture-related topics, ranging from crop management and disease control to market access strategies. Farmers eagerly seized the opportunity to glean guidance and insights from experts with extensive experience in the field.
Mandira Chakrabarti, KVK incharge, expressed her contentment with the visit, stating, "Exposure visits such as these are invaluable for farmers. They not only get to witness successful agricultural models in action but also engage with experts and peers, fostering the exchange of ideas and innovative solutions."
Debashish Datta, Agri Extension Officer, echoed this sentiment, underscoring the importance of knowledge-sharing and collaborative efforts in propelling agricultural development forward.
