Ram Thakur Sangha celebrates 59th foundation day

Agartala: Feb 16: Ram Thakur Sangha, one of the oldest and most prestigious clubs in Agartala, celebrated its 59th foundation day on February 16 with a series of social initiatives. A key event in the celebrations was a voluntary blood donation camp, which aimed to contribute to the community’s healthcare needs. The camp, organized by the club, was inaugurated by MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, who was joined by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumder, MLA Gopal Chandra Roy, and other distinguished guests.
In his address to the media, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee expressed his admiration for the initiatives taken by the club, saying, "Today is the foundation anniversary of Ram Thakur Sangha. On this occasion, the club authorities have organized various programs, including a blood donation camp and a sit-and-draw competition. Such programs are highly commendable." He praised the shift in focus of local clubs from mere competition to more socially impactful activities, adding, "Earlier, various clubs used to compete to show muscle power. Now, clubs are competing to organize social programs." His words of encouragement emphasized the importance of community-oriented initiatives.
After the inauguration, the MP visited the blood donation camp and interacted with the donors, encouraging them for their noble act. He emphasized the need for continued blood donation efforts to support those in need. The camp saw a remarkable turnout, with many individuals stepping forward to donate blood, underscoring the strong sense of community spirit in Agartala. The event was not only a celebration of the club's long-standing legacy but also a demonstration of the positive change that local organizations can bring to society through collective social responsibility.
